Under the spiritual direction of Sogyal Rinpoche, the national centre in London is the heart of Rigpa’s activity in the UK. Founded as a registered charity in 1979, Rigpa UK aims to express dynamically all the qualities and aspects of Sogyal Rinpoche’s limitless vision of communicating the teachings to others.
Rigpa has branches and groups offering courses in Birmingham, Edinburgh, South Downs and Norwich and a growing number of study and practice groups around the country. Rigpa UK offers those following the teachings of Buddha the support and facilities they need to progress from a basic introduction to meditation, through study of the foundation of Buddhism to training in compassion and more advanced courses. Rigpa UK also runs an annual ten-day Easter retreat, led by Sogyal Rinpoche.
How is Rigpa UK Supported?
Rigpa UK is financed solely from donations, covenants, membership fees, subscriptions, and course fees, with much of our work carried out by volunteers.
